Operation Cold Ember will be the second part in a series that follows Dark Harvest. This one will be a one day/all day event. We will also be having some night action as well. It will only go a couple hours after sunset. Sunset will be around 1730 ish that day.

The peace talks between The Prussians and The Norritons are not going so well since The Norritons have procession of most of the area so they want to set the terms. The Prussians are claiming that The Norritons have stolen the area and are demanding most of it back. If the issue is not resolved soon it may escalate into an all out war.

Both sides are now attempting to recruit for their armies and stock pile weapons. They are also in the process of fortifying what areas they own. As of now The Prussian Army is stuck on the south side of the field and only control up to the MSR. As for The Norritons, they own the north and central parts of the field. There is currently a DMZ along the MSR, neither side is able to cross it with out starting a war. The Norritons also own the high ground along the DMZ preventing anyone from crossing it, there is also an open area of no man's land preventing them from pushing into the south field.

Will peace solve the issues? What side will push first? Who will you support if this cold war ends and a real war begins?

For those of you who have not made it out to Valhalla Field yet it’s a large 50 acre field broken down into several playable airsoft fields. The area is mostly wooded with a few open areas and three dirt roads and a couple creeks running threw it. There is also a few buildings and bunkers to use during game play. The woods go from dense to light in many areas and the layout is great for sneaking around or just hunkering down. There are a lot of game options that can be played here. Most of the games are set up for long range sniping and mid to long range field play with a few CQB style battles. Maps and other details can be found on the site.

We have a few now in different sections of the field. After this op we will be able to load up on a lot more building materials so continue building. As of now we have "The Ruins" (meant to be exactly what it sounds like), "The Farm" (multi room building, second building still under construction and a third planned), "FOB" (small fire base), "Check Point" (machine gun bunker, tower overlooking most of the field, and a guard shack...more will be added in FEB) and "Fort Bravo" (shaping up to be a 100'x200' fort with multi-room buildings, and above ground tunnel structure, walls, towers etc)

The more you come out the more you will see improved...

102 players total on the roster. We may have a little snow on the ground from the night before, The roads should be clear, drive safely. Operation Cold Ember is a go!

We had a great turn out (80+) players to battle the frigid weather and snow along with each other. Overall it was a great time, with some nice raffle prizes. AAR to come...

AAR:

Today was the day that the Prussians had enough of the Norriton peace talks and decided to take matters into their own hands. Shortly after 1100 local time a large Prussian unit rushed across the DMZ attacking the Check Point and other strategic areas held by the Norritons.

There was some intense fighting along the MSR which made up the DMZ in and all around the Norriton Check Point. The fighting lasted for over an hour with a heavily outnumbered Norrition squad. The Norritons were quick to dispatch a QRF unit to help hold things down. While this fight was going on a large squad of Prussians hit the FOB and they hit it hard. After about 30 minutes of fighting around the FOB the Prussians were just finishing up with the last few Norriton soldiers effectively cutting the Norriton Army in half. Shortly after the FOB fell the Norritons had a tough time reinforcing the check point which was lost shortly afterwards.

The Norritons attempted to rally from the base at the farm house to retake the FOB which quickly turned into short heavy fire skirmishes. The Prussians held strong and rallied a squad or two themselves to hit the farm and take the field. This fight turned out to be a bit longer and drawn out with a few spots of heavy action. By this time the Norritons had the farm reinforced and not only were they able to repel the attacks but they were also able to counter attack the Prussians at the FOB.

The Norriton counter attack was fierce and quickly overwhelmed the Prussian defenders at the FOB. They continued to carry they attack into the check point but never made it there with enough force. The Prussians were all over the check point and dug in along the MSR effectively keeping the Norritons in the woods fighting the Prussians along with the terrain.

As the Norritons fell back to regroup they called in for a supply drop. The Prussians quickly seized this chance and hit back hard. As the main element of Norritons moved ahead to secure a LZ the Prussians attacked the base at the Farm and eliminated most of the defenders. During the fire fight at the farm the Prussians were able to secure a stinger missile. In the mean time the Norritons at the LZ were kept busy with Prussian attacks.

The Norritons popped smoke at the LZ for the incoming supply drop. As they were waiting for the helicopter to come in the Prussians were able to take it out with the stolen Stinger missile. The missile was not a direct hit but it did take the heli out of the air. The pilot was able to crash land but lost all of the crew leaving the pilot stranded in Bravo Field along the MSR.

As the pilot was waiting for the Norriton rescue squad he was effectively able to destroy the crashed bird and secure the INTEL on the Prussian army. The pilot, call sign "Care Bear Actual" was able to evade capture for an hour and link up with the Norriton rescue squad about 100 meters from the check point along the MSR.

The Norritons were easily able to extract the pilot with the INTEL to a safe area due to the lack of Prussian resistance. The Prussians were too busy pushing too hard looking for the Norritons in the wrong area, they actually pushed off the battlefield.

At this point of the day the weather had dropped, moral was low and ammo was even lower for both sides. Both armies slowly disengaged and fell back to their positions waiting for the next attack that never came.

At the end of the day the Norritons still hold their HQ located at the ruins, the base at the farm and the FOB. The Prussians were able to hold onto their HQ located at Fort Bravo and they gained ground by capturing and holding the check point along with the MSR. It seems that all chances of a peaceful end are off the table. Both sides own enough land to start the process of gathering the needed supplies to start the manufacturer of nuclear devices.

Come out in March to see what happens next...
