Chesapeake Airsoft Association

Uniting the airsoft community in Maryland, DE, PA, NJ & VA

Hello. I joined the site because I am looking to pick up a new hobby. I moved to Harford County, MD only a couple years ago and I still don't know many people, so I wanted to try my luck over the internet. I've been lurking various sites for a while and this one seems like a good option since it is regional. However, if you visit other boards, you may see this copy-pasted.

I'm in my late 20's. I would ideally like to play with other older people or at least a diverse group where I would not feel out of place. I suspect I will also be fairly casual. Not in the sense that I won't try hard and practice, but I'm not excessively competitive. I see this as just a game to have fun. I would be ok with the occasional milsim role play or competitive match, but I like the idea of having variety even if that means a less than optimal setup for non-competitive games.

For some off topic information about myself, my other main hobbies are more on the nerdy side of the spectrum (video games, anime, ect...). However, I also enjoy sewing and costuming and hope this could be useful for making or modifying outfits and accessories. I'd really like a good excuse to make a historical military outfit and various other things (why I want to play with people who would be ok with me wearing clothing that may not be the best camo). For my career, I work as an engineer/scientist. This should also come in handy as I am not intimidated by the idea of taking a gun apart for modifications.

At the moment, I have no equipment. I see no point in buying things only to put dents in my apartment's drywall if I can't find people to play with. Hopefully I can get the social aspect figured out and move on from there. I apologize that my intro was fairly long. I'm hoping more information leaves room for potential discussion.

Thank you

Welcome to the site, thanks for joining.  Our team is extremely laid back and with a wide age range from a few kids all the way up to people in their 50s and over.  I am also the owner of East Coast Airsoft, in Bel Air.  So when you are ready to get into things be sure you come visit us and we can help you out with everything you need and get you all the gear and such.  Our teams home field is in Havre de Grace and we have a free game for everyone about once a month.

Matt,

That sounds good. I've driven past East Coast Airsoft plenty of times so I know where it is. Looking into your store was actually already part of my plan to meet people. I've seen a few places that offer pickup games, but Havre de Grace is by far the most convenient.

Hey dude I'm sending you a friend request.

Don't worry about camo , 1 of our guys wears a scoobie doo costume so wear what you like.
