Hey. Name is Harley. Also go by Fin. I am moving to Waldorf MD next week. Thinking bout getting into airsoft. I played paintball years ago. I haven't bought a gun yet, still trying to research what would be best for me. So far I am really liking the echo1 mk-16 scar. Found some others from jg that I liked to. Any help would be great.
depends which type of player you would consider yourself more of a point man or more of a supportive role, really depends your play style in my opinion
When I was playing paintball I was one to run and gun up front. Think I might look into a Sig 552. Is Jg OK for a first gun? Don't want to spend to a lot (meaning 200+ for just the gun) on my first one. Would like to be able get a gun and some accessories for about 200.
There are the ones I might be interested in. Looking for something other then an AK or m4. Just looking for a good starter gun that isn't gonna kill my bank account so I can get other stuff like a mask, red dot, tactical vest etc. Am kinda leaning towards the full metal sig though.
I like the look of that metal Sig, but its still cybergun and their reputation is, well awful. But that doesnt mean the gun sucks, i would look for reviews on any airsoft forum website. Look into Echo-1 they have good quality guns for a decent price. What Ive found out is that if you don't like how your gun looks you probably wont like the gun.
From what I have been finding cybergun is gaining a better Rep. Seemed like the reviews on the site about the metal sig were good too. I definitely agree with the looks comment. That is why I am staying away from the normal AK's and m4's. Seems like everyone has them. Really wish I could get an ACR or a Galil, but all the ones I have found are way to expensive. Cheapest I found those 2 for was like 400, and that's a little much for my first gun.
if you dont want to spend to much but still want a quality gun I recommend either sticking to Echo-1 or JG they are very similar and you can get a quality gun for around $160
How do you feel about mp5's? There are dozens of styles, good aftermarket support for the externals, and run a v2 gearbox. Which means if something breaks, it's cheap and avaliable. I will always suggest m4's as a starter gun though. The fact that there are so many, means that they are cheaper to buy, and cheaper to own. If you have the chance, I would say go to a storefront, like Shortys in DE, and handle some of the guns. Make sure you like the weight, the grip, the stock, make sure it "fits". Nothing kills your day like lugging around a gun that's awkward or cumbersome(m60vn anyone) Another option would be to wait until you are located in your new residence, and attend a local event. Be it a Fort Rama game, the day at SOG's field, MTCF down in the dena, or any other recommended game. There you will be able to see the guns in person, and I'm sure some people will let you hold and fire them. Either way, welcome to CAA, and the sport of airsoft. Look forward to slinging some plastic with you in the future.

www.airsoftmegastore has some good prices also. I used to love paintball also till I bought an airsoft & played at Ramas w/ the guys. ( pros- no paint mess ,no air / cons- facing Steve w/ his M-60). Looking forward to shooting, I mean meeting ya. Jeff
If you want to check out some guns we also have alot in stock right now at ECA give us a call if you want to set up a date an time to come by and check our inventory. As well as check out our site too if you haven't already. Everything we have is on the site and it's a little easier to start there. But like steve said, I would recommend an m4 for a starter gun. All of the good quality rare guns are a little out of the price range you have. Hope that helps, and again thanks for joining the association! Together we will expand the sport of airsoft in our area!
I do like the mp5's. Please correct me if I am wrong but I thought that they were better suited for cqb. I was trying to find a weapon that would be good for midrange and cqb. Trying to stay on the light, fast, maneuverable side, but still have some range. Where is your shop located. I will be wife and kidless next week so I might be able to check some stuff out. I work on Andrews AFB. Not to familiar with the area there yet.
