Chesapeake Airsoft Association

Uniting the airsoft community in Maryland, DE, PA, NJ & VA

Just found this and would like to say hello. Name is Rob, I'm a bit older than the average airsofter but then again I got into it for use with my work originally.

I'm looking for a place that will start listing all the known games in the DMV. Airsoft is hyper unorganized in the USA.

Hope to see you all around.

Cheers

Welcome to the CAA Rob. Glad to have ya. You may be older than the average airsofter, but your not alone. ;) I noticed in your bio you are an ex-PMC, did you ever serve in the military? I'm sure you know, but alot of ex-military personal come to airsoft as a hobby. What part of VA are you from? There are a few very active teams in VA that would welcome the experience you carry. Do you visit any other forums?

I'm semi retired, as I work more as a consultant and instructor now. And yeah, I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express many years ago, long before they called us contractors LOL

Location now, I'm living in the Berryville area (when stateside). We are on a small farm and have a training center here. (This farm is formerly the Executive Protection Institutes home years ago) Now we have a small training range for the airsoft portion, we are building around 40x160 main area and long stuff over 200ft+.

I got into airsoft because of the expense of ammo a few years back. GBB pistols are fantastic training tools with limits of course. I helped design and build the original TAA for that reason actually.

I've been on a team for years now, Team Fluffy Bunny and now we have the outdoor team Dastardly Airsoft Guerrillas which is made up of a few of my staff members and kept simple. We are a have fun kind of group.

Yeah, I'm a mod on acmeairsoft and belong to quite a few other forums including maapr here and quite a few overseas.  I also work part time for Raider and Airsoft International as a rep here. But the issue is, airsoft in the USA is very unorganized compared to the rest of the world.

Aaahhh, a consultant. I.e. more money, less danger ;) Contractor sounds better to joe public, most people think y'all are building mcdonalds and such. I've heard EPI mentioned before, can't remember who or where. If it's the place in the photo it looks like good times. I would love to take a road trip down there sometime if possible, there isint enough places like TAA on the east coast. You sound like a busy man, airsoft needs more "experienced" people like you to steer it in the right direction. As far as organization in the airsoft community is concerned, Its more of a scattered group of refugees, with little structure. Sites like this and MAAPR help, but it's all about the people to make it work. And since airsoft is still widely unknown, and considered a kids game to some, it's difficult to form a solid structure. If there's anything I can do to help, I try, but I'm just a mechanic, not a miracle worker.
