I'm looking for a nice pistol to use as a sidearm. Any opinions?

The elite force 1911s are great.  And so are all of the KWA pistols.  But its really all about personal preference.  There is no such thing as the best in anything.

You will need to give us far more information for us to offer recommendations.

Inokatsu M1911 or P229. Both of them are $1000+

See? I gave you a very nice recommendation. However, it is unlikely you will be able to afford it.

Without a doubt, Tokyo Marui makes the best gas blow back pistols in the world in terms of performance. No other company has pistols that perform as well as TM pistols. I have yet to meet somebody who was not glad they purchased a TM.

The old KWA/KSC G series were also phenomenal. Accuracy and range were good, and gas efficiency was incredible. However, neither are made any more and getting your hands on one can be difficult.

Stark Arms makes the most realistic Glock-series GBB pistols at the moment. They do not perform as well as TM Glocks, but they are TM compatible which makes them easily upgradable.

KJW makes good full metal pistols. However, performance is nowhere near TM. Nevertheless, they are reliable and skirmish-worthy.

KWA makes decent pistols. Out of the box performance is excellent, but there are no upgrade parts available for them. All replacement parts must be purchased from KWA, and replacement parts are expensive.

WE and Elite Force (KWC) are terrible. They work, which makes them good for inexpensive, beginner GBB pistols. However, they are certainly not worth the money. They will not hold up in the long term. Since they cost about $100 each, you will probably need to purchase a replacement in a couple years, forcing you to spend another $100. For $200, you could have purchased a nice TM.

Thanks
