Event Description

Operation Sunset is framed in June of 2013, six months after the largest solar event in Man's recorded history caused a coronal mass ejection that destroyed everything with circuits or wire. The resulting chaos and death was on a scale that our race has not seen in living memory. A harsh winter in the northern hemisphere with no heat or power killed more helpless souls than all of our world wars combined. Now as Humanity fights to survive, his greatest enemy is himself. The old ways that we have know are gone, and it is up to each and every man woman and child to grasp at the one slender thread of survival that will reward us with one more day above ground. Perhaps the forces of order and government will persist, or maybe Man will survive in groups and clans like once he did. That is not yet foretold.

SOG FPS LIMITS ARE AS FOLLOWS:

-Max spring for any full-auto AEG: M130.
-AEG FPS: 420 w/ .20gram BBs (20-foot bang out rule)
-Sniper Rifle (Single ONLY or Bolt Action): 600fps w/ .20gram BBs (100ft minimum engagement distance, 10-foot bang out rule, under 100ft use sidearm or back up AEG)
Most of our players use AEGs that shoot 280fps or higher with .20gram BBs, so if your AEG shoots under that, you might be a little out-gunned. Just something to consider before you come out.

 ALSO, East Coast Airsoft will be sponsoring/vending the event as well so they will have a table set up with green gas, bbs, extra mags, and anything you ask them to bring. Please be sure to let them know at least a week in advance anything you might want on gameday so they have enough time to get everything ordered in for you!

This OPORD is subject to change at any time. Check back to make sure that you are in full compliance before coming out. Game will be held on Sunday, June 10th, 2012.

REGISTRATION:
Signup sheet located at www.sogairsoft.org, see front page for details. Price for participation will be $20.00 and is payable at the gate on game day.

LOCATION:
SOG Field, location classified. Registration required for disclosure. Email and confirmation will be sent with directions, so make sure to put a valid address on the signup sheet.

MEALS: Lunch will be provided, and as usual, will be of the finest cuisine available to post apocalyptic USA. Water will be available at the base camp, and it is recommended that each participant bring and carry at least one to two litres of water. It may well be a hot one.

FORCES:
NATO (Tan), versus the American Brotherhood (Green)

GEAR:
Guns: All types of airsoft permitted. See Chrono restrictions.

AMMO:
Biodegradable and non-bio degradable both permitted.

GRENADES/SMOKE: No pyro. See command before using any smoke or grenades.

CHRONO:
AEG and SAW – 420 FPS with .20g BBs (20 foot “bang out” rule.)
Bolt Action/Semi auto only – 600 FPS with .20g BBs (100 foot minimum engagement distance. 10 foot “bang out” rule.) Snipers may be required to qualify.

UNIFORMS:
NATO: Tan based uniforms to include MARPAT desert, 3 color desert, 6 color desert, ATACS, Multicam, ARPAT, AFPAT or other desert warfare camo patterns.
American Brotherhood: MARPAT Woodland, NATO woodland, Jungle tiger stripe, ATACS FG, OD, or other woodland combat camo patterns.

OBJECTIVES:
NATO: Subdue and defeat the AB, subsume their supplies and secure the area.
AB: Repel the invaders, guard your assets and when possible capture materials and intel to guarantee victory.

MISSIONS:
Intel will be passed to each team during the game.

SCHEDULE:
Arrival – 0800-0930
Safety Briefing – 0930-0945
Assemble at CP - 0945-1000
Game Startex – 1000
Lunch – 1300-1400
Game Start – 1400-1700
Game Endex – 1700

FIELD BOUNDARIES:
Safe zones and out of bounds areas will be marked with pink tape ribbons on trees throughout the 130 acre field.
When shooting from inside or within 100 feet of a building, there will be a “semi-auto only” rule in effect. Also, there will be a strict 100 foot MINIMUM “safety zone” around the tents and parking lot entrance. There will be no shooting from, or into safety zones.

SAFETY:
Safety briefing will be held before game startex. Failure to comply with the safety rules may be grounds for expulsion from the field.
All participants must carry a red rag. If hit, follow instructions for kill rag.
FULL SEAL GOGGLES MUST BE WORN at all times when outside of the safety area. No exceptions allowed.
All participants under 18 must wear unmodified paintball full face mask.

ENFORCEMENT:
Referees will be present for the game, and may be dressed as civillians or other non-factional individuals. The function of the referees is to provide non-biased spot checks for rules compliance, and assistance with compliance where required. Referees may or may not be be armed. Referees may have information about the nature and requirements of the individual missions, and may be able to provide intel, depending on theor affiliations.
